ZEBRA as a tool that could be used by an architect, engineer, or student with no previous knowledge of modelling on day one of the project. We set a one-hour time limit to model a house on first use and thirty minutes on second use. We developed ZEBRA as a tool that, ignoring window details, only asks for around 20 pieces of information, is free, and up-skills the user ready for the next project.

The Low Voltage Network Analysis Tool (LV-NVAT) is a low voltage (230 V 1φ, 400 V 3φ) distribution network simulation framework used for predicting the steady state voltage and thermal constraints that evolving network demands are likely to cause on UK LV networks. It can take simple data time series (representing customer load demand) as input. It runs 1 simulated day at 1 min temporal resolution and simple building level spatial resolution. It is the basic framework that I have used to build all of my power networks research simulations upon. The framework runs in MATLAB, and interfaces with the freely available distribution power systems simulation tool OpenDSS.

Dataset for the journal paper "Towards Active Buildings: rating grid-servicing buildings", which describes the simulations for the 20 case study buildings. The simulation inputs describe the intended characteristics as part of the early design stage process, and the outputs the performance metrics under the rating system introduced in the journal paper, called the ABCode1. Such outputs rate the relative merits of each case study in terms of embodied carbon, energy requirements, energy generation and energy flexibility.
