Thermal storage allows heat for space heating or hot water to be generated at a time different to when it will be used. This could be a few hours before it is required, or even weeks or months ahead of a heating season.
The benefits of thermal storage include lower bills (heat is generated when energy is least expensive), reduced carbon emissions, and improved flexibility in terms of consumption.
We are designing and simulating the thermal performance of various storage mediums using in-house developed and commercial codes to define charge and discharge strategies for multiple building typologies.
